I've found that I'm most inspired during impromptu photo sessions. There is something about finding the beauty in what is right in front of you. Not having to search for props or prepare a certain location really elevates my creative process. I've always seen myself as resilient and adaptable, so it comes as no surprise that I love feeding off of these in-the-moment feelings.
My friend Hannah Fairweather & I took an adventure to a local ice-cream shop down the street from my house. No photo plans. Just an adventure for some tasty treats.
When we arrived, we both fell in love with the light up signs in the window. It was something so simple that gave the photos an extra touch.
We made friends with people who were working & they cheered us on as we had fun capturing memories of our adventure.
If you are a photographer, or just someone who enjoys instagram, I urge you to take on the challenge of capturing locations in your own neighborhood. It's worth looking at somewhere for brunch, shopping, or even icecream a little differently!
I plan on making these impromptu shoots happen more often.
